Objective Screening Updates below…

January 25, 2009

The great news on the table for OBJECTIVE right now, is that it has officially been purchased for distribution by IFC!

IFC’s plan for the film is to release it on VOD and theatrical in NY/Los Angeles. The film is set to play at the IFC Center in NY starting on February 4th and will then make its way to the Sunset 5 in Hollywood on March 13th.

In the meantime, you can get more information on The Objective at IFC’s recently launched site:

http://www.ifcfilms.com/viewFilm.htm?filmId=1356

If you’re in NY keep checking the IFC Center’s website for showtimes/tickets. The link is:

http://www.ifccenter.com/event?eventid=999852

Or if you are in Los Angeles, you can check the Sunset 5 website for ticket information as it becomes available:

http://www.laemmle.com/viewtheatre.php?thid=2

Essentially both theaters will play OBJECTIVE for a one week run. However, if we have a massive turnout to the week long engagement there is talks of extending the film + opening it wider. In other words, if you live in NY/LA please support our film! =)

in the coming month, be sure to keep checking our site for a few updates and also we will be launching a facebook fan group shortly.

Till then….

So what the heck is the latest in the world of THE OBJECTIVE?

October 6, 2008

People may be wondering why the blog has been so quiet as of late, even though THE OBJECTIVE has been playing at a slew of film festivals across the world. The reasoning behind it? There are great things on the table for the film, which I cannot disclose of yet. But I can disclose of what the heck’s been going on w/ the film over the past month and a half…

We will be featured on In w/ Tamara Henry. You can check out her blogspace:

http://www.tamarahenry.blogspot.com/

The airdate is November 9th on any of the following stations:

channel 43 in beverly hills

77 in santa monica

and channel 98 other places in LA

Now for the Film Festival breakdown.

We recently played at:

The Atlantic Film Festival in Canada

http://www.atlanticfilm.com/aff/index.php

The Cambridge Film Festival in the UK

Pifan Film Festival in Korea

Upcoming Festivals are:

The Sitges Film Festival in Spain 10/10/08

www.cinemasitges.com/uk/

Israeli Fantastic Festival 2008 10/14 — 10/18

www.icon.org.il

As you can tell, it’s been a VERY busy time for the film. While we’re accepted into more festivals and the ‘good news’ that I cannot disclose of is confirmed, keep telling all your friends, family, enemies, etc. about this film!

And if you get a chance you should check out two films done by BLAIR WITCH vets:

SEVENTH MOON

www.seventhmoon.com/

ALIEN RAIDERS

http://www.myspace.com/alienraiders

Both features are making their rounds thru the festival circuit. SEVENTH MOON is directed by the other director of BLAIR WITCH, Ed Sanchez and ALIEN RAIDERS is directed by the man who created the stick figure in BW, Ben Rock.

Enjoy!

INSIDE FILM for EMP|SFM

June 12, 2008

Exposed: Inside Film at EMP|SFM
The Objective with Director and Screenwriter Daniel Myrick.

EMP|SFM, in partnership with The Warren Report, presents a new film series, Exposed: Inside Film at EMP|SFM. The series includes new films, cult favorites and classic sci-fi and music films. Each screening is followed by a behind-the-scenes look through an interactive discussion with actors, directors or screenwriters associated with the film.

In July, The Objective will be screened followed by a conversation with Director and Screenwriter Daniel Myrick. Daniel Myrick is the director of the pioneering film, The Blair Witch Project. Myrick’s latest film, The Objective tells the story of a CIA operative sent to lead a team into the desert of Afghanistan to make contact with a man known as “Mohammed Aban.” Instead they find something else, something that even their elite training hasn’t prepared them for. Warren Etheredge will host the evening.

In collaboration with EMP|SFM’s new film series, Revolution Bar & Grill is pleased to offer a film-themed happy hour before the screenings. Stop by the restaurant to mingle and take advantage of appetizer and drink specials from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. For more information visit Revolution Bar & Grill online.

Objective Summer Update

June 12, 2008

OBJECTIVE SUMMER UPDATE

Even though you haven’t heard from us in awhile on this blog, it doesn’t mean we haven’t been busy. Since OBJECTIVE last made its way to NY for a well-received premiere at Tribeca, we’ve been slammed submitting the feature to other film festivals. So far, we’ve been invited to a few different ones. The first:

Paul Allen Museum in Seattle on July 15th. It isn’t really a festival, but it’s a great chance for us to once again have a preview on the big screen! As more information comes thru on this exhibition I will be sure to keep updating everyone via the blog.

Fantasia Film Festival. This one’s an extension of Fangoria and will also be happening around mid-July. The festival is in Montreal and you can go to:http://www.fantasiafest.com for more information.

So where does that leave the rest of the people that were involved w/ Objective?

D. Myrick is currently in development phase w/ a few scripts and recently produced, OTIS, which made its DVD release this week via Warner Home Video and Raw Feed.

John Huertas is in NY shooting another project after wrapping the HBO series, GENERATION KILL

Sam Hunter was booked on a film overseas that should begin shooting shortly.

Frank Bollinger still loves Flan.

Jeff Prewett is in Los Angeles and staying w/ me while he makes a push at getting a big role out here. You can check out this recent article about him:

http://www.bigpondmovies.com/libraries/article_library/news/hitting_the_connections_online/

Robert Florio (editor) recently completed editing work on this past season of LOST.

Jeremy Wall and Zev Guber are in development w/ several projects at JAZ Films.

Mike Williams is still going strong with his theater company in NY.

As for me, I recently co-produced a feature, http://www.forchristssakemovie.com/ that previewed at STIFF, Seattle True Independent Film Festival.

If your name wasn’t mentioned above, that means I don’t know what you are currently up to. Be sure to e-mail me and I’ll blog about it.

And that brings this blog update for the summer to a close. The Film Festival push goes on till next time…
